Growing Homes

We want to build homes for families, and one of the defining qualities of the family is change. So we need to build affordable homes big enough for a young couple and their 1st child, and as they grow and expand, the house needs to do the same.

We have developed a scheme using modern prefabrication systems and a fixed dimensional grid to make not only the construction of the house very quick, but also to make the extending of it a matter of a week rather than months.

Using prefabricated solid timber construction, self-supporting rendered hempcrete panels, clip-together prefabricated green roofing panels and recycle-friendly mill-finish aluminium enables the completed home to be fully sustainable and Zero Carbon rated.

The scale of the elements along with the warmth of the timber, the reflection of the glass and light sparkle of the aluminium will create an elegant friendly and human impression. The interconnected façade panels link the individual houses together as a street, whilst the rhythm of the elements breaks-up the monotony and gives each home a special quality.

And when your 2.4 kids arrive you don’t need to move-out, everything arrives ‘off-the-shelf’ and is assembled in a week. So you never need move away for lack of space. Your Garden will always be your garden, your home will always be your home, and your neighbourhood will always be your neighbourhood.
